Employment Law Changes 2025
Navigating the evolving landscape of UK employment law changes in 2025 is crucial for businesses. Key updates include significant increases to the National Minimum Wage (NMW) and National Living Wage (NLW), alongside adjustments to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) and Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP). The introduction of Neonatal Care Leave provides new support for parents, while the Employment Rights Bill 2024-25 proposes sweeping reforms, including changes to unfair dismissal and zero-hour contracts. Employers must also be aware of evolving regulations concerning flexible working, harassment and discrimination, and redundancy and collective consultation. Stay compliant and informed about these critical employment law updates to ensure a smooth transition and maintain positive employee relations.

Is Burnout Just a Buzzword?
Back in the 70s, researchers started noticing that a lot of social workers were hitting a wall. They were exhausted, unhappy, and starting to detach from their work (Freudenberger, 1974).
This sparked a whole wave of research, and eventually, the "Maslach Burnout Inventory" was born (Maslach & Jackson, 1981). This handy tool helped us understand the three core signs of burnout: emotional exhaustion, depersonalisation (feeling cynical and distant), and a sense of reduced personal accomplishment.
